The MENTOR Network is anational network of local health and human services providers operating in 36states. The Public Strategy Group isresponsible for developing and implementing The Network’s agenda with regard tocommunications, investor relations, marketing & proposal development,government & community affairs and corporate philanthropy.

As a key member of thePublic Strategy Group Government Relations team, the Government RelationsManager will play a critical role in the day-to-day activities of an aggressivegovernment relations agenda impacting The MENTOR Network and its partners,working closely with state and corporate leadership as appropriate. Thesuccessful candidate will be a dynamic, strategic thinker who is capable ofmanaging multiple priorities simultaneously.

Description

KeyResponsibilities

Work collaboratively with theGovernment Relations team to advance and implement a strategic approach andadvocacy agenda consistent with overall Network priorities and efforts,including supporting a policy agenda that places a priority on the best interestsof the individuals served by The Network.

Identify and advance businessopportunities (also minimizing potential business threats) and keep corporateand state operations leadership informed of key public policy activities anddevelopments at both the state and federal level.

Develop, implement and lead astrategic approach to engage corporate and operations leadership with the goalof identifying and prioritizing proactive legislative and regulatory initiativesthat support key business objectives and drive business developmentopportunities.

As assigned, engage in advocacyinitiatives and problem solving around escalated issues, including advocatingbefore federal and state policy makers.

Manage The Network’srelationships with assigned federal and state political consultants.

Serve as a key resource andconsultant to state-based operations leadership on political and public policyissues.
